Michael has always lived in SE Wisconsin and moved to Brookfield in 1998. He is married to Katy, who is a compliance executive for another major financial services firm. They have seven adult children between them. Colorado is a favorite vacation destination year round where Michael and Katy enjoy hosting family and friends for hiking, biking, golf and most of all downhill skiing.

Michael enjoys the local racquet sports scene. He is an active member of the Brookfield Tennis & Pickleball Club and has served as both board member and President. He plays competitively on USTA State League teams, including some that have advanced to regional and national tournaments. He also plays on MMITL teams and is always up for a game of Platform Tennis or Table Tennis.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison ('90) and a MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management ('97). Michael became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in 2002. The standards required for initial CFP® certification included relevant experience, extensive education, rigorous examination and a demonstrated commitment to ethics. Maintaining certification requires many hours of continuing education each year.

After college, Michael spent six years with Jockey International, working first in sales and later as a national account manager. In 1996, he joined Baird after deciding to turn his passion for financial planning and investments into a career.
